The first time I took a DISC assessment it was for 360 Solutions in Waco, TX. I’d signed up to attend classes with Roger Allen and buy their materials for teaching High Performing Team Creation. I learned a lot from Roger and everyone else at 360 Solutions. However, I never had anyone tell me about my assessment. I got to read it after they nodded knowingly and handed it back to me. I enjoyed reading the report and tossed it on my pile.

The second time I took a DISC assessment was for The Alternative Board. Before attending a franchise discovery day I took the assessment. Again, I noticed that it was read by management but I didn’t understand the content. It didn’t come to light for me until a year later when sitting in a mastermind session with other coaches, I was urged – strongly – to partner with TTI to learn not just about the assessments, but give the assessments to my clients.

What did I do? I started giving MBTI assessments to my clients. Why? Because you can do them online – for free. MBTI is definitely an interesting assessment of preferences in 16 types. But it is a bit too general and I stopped using it.

After being urged – in fact demanded by my fellow coaches to get thy ass into TTI training did I reluctantly attend. And a couple of important things happened.

One: Everyone I coach gets a DISC assessment. (If I could just do assessments all day, I may die of happiness.)

Secondly: It created the foundation of the Fail Proof Hiring System.
